Unlimited is a spin-off from Keith Connell Inc. (KCI), a fresh fruits and vegetable produce company Connell's father, Keith, founded in 1980. Unlimited was initially established in 2008 to service its sister company's in-house shipments of fresh produce and provide KCI the ability to source truck capacity in-house. Quickly, the company organically evolved offering services to other shippers, and specifically to major meat manufacturers transporting large volumes of refrigerated products.

Fast-forward to today, it operates contract and daily spot market shipments across a diversified range of manufacturing and service industries. Unlimited is a well-known transportation entity in the beef, chicken and pork markets. A recent example, in the first quarter of 2024, Unlimited moved 94 million pounds of pork for dozens of different customers, picking up across the United States and taking them to the Mexico border, which accounts for approximately 30 percent of all pork exported from the U.S. to Mexico.

Leveraging (KCI) in-house truckload shipments, relationships and resources, Unlimited consistently employs the same trucking companies and drivers. Its drivers often pick up produce loads from Keith Connell’s warehouses, wholesalers, including a vast network of produce growers spread across the United States-Mexico border. Unlimited then transports to deliver to various Keith Connell Inc. customers located across the Midwest, Upper Midwest, Ohio Valley and Southeastern states across the U.S. After delivery of the time-sensitive produce, Unlimited then contracts the same truck to pick up one of their meat shipments that are transported to the southern U.S. or Mexico.

Unlimited has established relationships with cold storage facilities along key routes, which allows transloading products if a refrigeration unit in the trailer fails, preventing product damage and ensuring timely delivery.” says Felipe Figueredo, Director of Strategic Accounts.

A notable service aspect is its ability to drop trailers at meat processing plants, which is typically challenging for brokers due to not having their own assets. Without owned trailer fleets, many brokers often struggle with scheduling and turnaround times, as they rely on third-party carriers that don’t have the flexibility to leave trailers at a plant. Unlimited's blend of brokerage and lite-asset services allows its drivers to switch out empty trailers for pre-loaded ones efficiently. This capability minimizes downtime and enhances turnaround times.

Extensive experience with perishable goods is complemented by its expert consultation on issues like temperature control and proper palletization. Unlimited also offers distinct advantages with access to repair and repackaging services for goods, ensuring they pass United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspections and risk mitigation strategies to reduce the likelihood of costly claims related to products damaged during transit.
